Finally have the time to blog because…
I am down with the flu. Well done. Not entirely surprising, considering the 15-hour days over the past 2 weeks which ended off nicely with a 36-hour shift with no post-call. The mum is itching to say ‘I told you so’ cos I spent half the weekend in school and the other half gallivanting. In short, I need rest.
Surg SIP reflections:
- I understand now what they mean when they say that surgeons are dangerous. And I don’t say that just because they wield scalpels and cut people up.
- This hierarchy thing is ridiculous.
- Professionalism should be a spinal reflex. Not something you give time to only when you are free, in a good mood or whatever. This, for your patients, the hospital staff and your peers. Not just your seniors.
- Treat thy patient like thy parent.
Just started Surg revision posting today and feeling all motivated to study except that it’s physically impossible with this ass stuck to the couch which is some serious metres away from my study materials.
MALAISE. Bye now.
